Antivirals

Antiviral agents are drugs that inhibit the spread of virus by acting on certain viral actions during the infectious process. Antivirals inhibit the spread of the virus by preventing replication of the genome, blocking entry to host cells, or inhibiting viral protein synthesis. Antivirals do not cure, but they may help people to recover by, relieving some of the symptoms and reducing the length of time someone is ill. Antivirals do not take the place of vaccination, Vaccinations are the most effective way of protecting against a virus.
